Mt William Holiday Star
Relit for the holiday season
2024 Dec 4 - “While things in planning take sometime to turn to reality…patience prevails.
A thought to return the star on Mount William for the holiday season was on the check list. The star was there many years ago when I was a child and remember it vividly.
Although not finished and up before I left office, the star was built. The issue was getting it up on the frame that was dilapidated as well as getting it and keeping it lit with no electric service.
Let this star guide us through the holiday season and into the New Year with prosperity no matter what we believe. We all deserve at least that.” - Kelly Decker, former PORT JERVIS Mayor.
This seasonal project was funded by the PORT JERVIS Heritage Center with the primary goal of “bringing back and highlighting the history of Port Jervis”. Thanks to Tom’s Auto for making a large financial contribution toward this project. Built by Michael Ward of Ward Lambert Design LX who donated all technical design and build time. The star 7’9” and visible from as far away as I-84 Greenville Mountain with primary focus on downtown PORT JERVIS. Watch for more displays throughout the year.
The Port Jervis Food Trucks & Fireworks Festival is supported by us alongside the City of Port Jervis and Ward Lambert Design to celebrate July 4th in Port Jervis. PJHC provides funding for the entertainment and fireworks portion of this event.
